 Why? They made a subscription page where you can find all of your subscriptions in alphabetical order with small pictures, that's very useful compared to the old list where you couldn't even find something you were looking for and it was all messed up. I bet they will eventually change the channel designs because it looks old compared to the new things they added.

 I absolutely agree with you Dan, yet this only proves what the picture is saying at this point which I believe is another mathematical irrationality (however they call it in English) like I've learnt some other examples in my calculus classes. Or maybe you are right that you can't own -1 dollar to yourself technically, but do maths really take care of those things? There's probably another way of calculating this the right way (kind of problem I would have seen in my economic class or something).

But try to see it the other way, we are looking for the 1$...where did it go? So let's just add up all the numbers that we have and see how much it gives us. He spent 97$ on the t-shirt. So he owes 48.5$ to each of his parents. He has 3$ of change too. He gives 1$ to both of them so at the end there's 99$ involved in this story + the 1$ he still has in his pocket. Seems pretty simple to me, it's just to explain that the money didn't go anywhere and it's just another way to see things to make it rational. But you are right, I give you the credit. Good that you explained it the mathematical way, sure is more clear than that angry kid.

Btw you said it's a trick question (loui), I said the same thing. "It's just to mess up your head because you do not owe 49$ to your mom and dad. You owe 49.5$ to be exact" At the end you still own them 49.5$. No matter what you gave them back or not, you can see it that way you took 100$ from them and you have 1$, so that means you owe 49.5$ to them, no? That's obviously a trick question since it's just gonna turn around no matter what you do, could be an endless discussion too. Maybe if you support your answer with some evidence like Dan people will take you more seriously. Just a thought, don't get angry on me.
